PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that Sharon City Council intends to consider and enact an Ordinance amending its Zoning Ordinance at its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers located at 155 West Connelly Boulevard, Sharon, PA 16146.

The proposed zoning ordinance will repeal the current use of the 2006 Mercer County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, which thereby results in the applicability of the current version of the Mercer County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, which became effective on September 1, 2025. The title of the Ordinance is:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SHARON, MERCER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, REPEALING ITS CURRENT USE OF THE 2006 MERCER COUNTY SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE, WHICH THEREBY RESULTS IN THE APPLICABILITY OF THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE MERCER COUNTY SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE, WHICH BECAME EFFECTIVE ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2025.

• Section 1 repeals the City’s adoption of the Mercer County 2006 Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance, initially adopted on March 21, 2013, and all amendments thereto in
  their entirety.

• Section 2 provides that upon the effective date of the repeal, all subdivision and land development activities shall be regulated by the current Mercer County SALDO that became effective on September 1, 2025, and all amendments thereto, pursuant to Section 502 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. 

• Section 3 provides that the provisions of the Ordinance are severable, while Section 4 renders the Ordinance effective ten (10) days from its adoption.

A copy of this ordinance is also available for inspection at the City of Sharon offices located at 155 West Connelly Boulevard, Sharon, PA 16146 during regular business hours.
