On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136 was signed into law to respond to the growing effects of the coronavirus public health crisis. The CARES Act provides special allocation of $ $103,754 to the City of Sharon under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus.
Each year the City of Sharon prepares an Annual Action Plan which outlines the projects, programs and activities funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Notice is hereby given that the 2019 Annual Action Plan will now include the CARES Act funding known as CDBG-CV2. The 2019 AAP has previously been amended to include initial CDBG-CV funding.
In accordance with the City of Sharon Citizen Participation Plan, a 30-day public comment period will be held from Wednesday, June 16, 2021 to Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
This is considered a substantial amendment in accordance with the City’s Citizen Participation Plan since the following applies: Definition (b) proposing to undertake an activity not previously described in the annual action plan.
Amendment: Allocate CDBG-CV2 funding to the following activities in the amount of $103,754:
Economic Development: Technical Assistance 24 CFR 570.203(c) Technical assistance to for-profit businesses, including workshops, assistance in developing business plans, marketing, and referrals to lenders or technical resources.

The Substantial Amendment to the FY 2019 Annual Action Plan is available on the web at the City of Sharon’s website http://www.cityofsharon.net , in the Current News section on the homepage. The substantial amendment is available for public comment from Wednesday, June 16, 2021 to Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
